Can you feel the sun shining down on us, its rays
I know life plans can become undone
But all that is asked is that we follow the light
Even when we cannot see
The stars, Venus and the moon
They all shine for you
When its too dark to see

The cold rivers and brooks
That freely run beside you and me
They all are alight with the sight
Of a silvery moon gleaming
All our dreams we expired
Across the campfire

On the sparks they go

It is written on left limbs
Orion has permitted

Upset beset by more upset

I called you last night
The first time in a long time
I held my breath
Preparing to hear you say 'you're nothing but impending death'

And honestly
We got on like teenagers who slipped the scene
And through the phone line I could hear you smile
Stretching your lips most bashfully

Laying in my yard at night
Loving how the same stars shine within your sight
Just knowing how you do
Fills my heart like a balloon

I miss my home
With its mountains and patch work farms
But I would trade them all
Just to know you're OK
And no one is doing you harm

I can be your Christmas table perfectly set
Or the green wine bottle that condenses wet
Sitting in my finest suit awaiting your arrival
Like a perfect gentlemen

I'll be your backyard deck
That's bolted to the crumbling brick
Where you go and sit
In the evening on summer days

I'll be the angel wings
That save you if you start drowning
In an open tab
When your judgments on the brink

I'll be your favorite stereo that
Plays your favorite albums back
As you're laying there
Drifting sweetly off to sleep

I'll be your high heeled shoes
And undo what genetics have done to you

Just to look into my eyes

I will be the scarf around your throat
Or better yet your winter coat
With your hood keeping you warm
So you won't catch cold

From all the shackles of this town
And kiss you warmly on the mouth

From the towns sinking feeling

The sun will heat the ground
